This weeks Somethingforyourears is an inspiration selection from underground house music producer and blogger Zilla Gerrard.
Zilla Gerrard has spent the last 8 years exploring the world of underground music, opening himself up to various genres, such as progressive, minimal, tech-house, deep house, techno, breakbeat, electro and more, in order ensure his sound as both a DJ and producer is relatively diverse and genre fusing. You could say that he has been refining his sound over the years in order to bring together the best of these underground genres into one seamlessly flowing DJ set. Zilla prides himself on still being a vinyl DJ and says that the search for records is half the fun of DJing.
His sounds can be known to cross from the more laidback deep house, incorporating old electro or even acid elements, right the way through to bass bouncing tech-house, and even more deep pumping minimal.
The last couple of years has seen Zilla play at numerous underground nights in London, Italy and Germany, as well as creating the Guerilla Sounds project, which is a internet based news platform focusing on such DJs, Producers and Nights that resonate that true underground vibe.http://guerillasounds.com
